Little Grey is 37 weeks along today and looking healthy but also like he's going to be a very big boy. I had an ultrasound this morning and the sonographer estimated his measurements at 39 weeks and a day and that he already weighs over eight pounds. The ultrasound pictures weren't very good because he's pretty much out of room in there. (Just check out the pictures of me below.)
We are meeting with my doctor on Wednesday and will see then if she is at all concerned about the size of this little tank. Wish us luck! I'm more than a little nervous ...

I am somewhat of an authority on big baby boys, unless you want to know how to get them out other than via c-section. Here's my first tip: don't buy newborn-sized diapers. Here's my second tip: don't be afraid of the bottle/nursing combo.
Good luck!
He is beautiful! Soon he will be here and you will marvel at how perfect he is and be amazed that you can love something so much and still have more than enough for C.
I've heard -- and it's been a while, so I don't remember where -- that bigger babies come out faster than smaller ones. Either way, good luck!
Both my boys were over nine and half pounds, I never buy newborn diapers, and they look like baby hueys in the hospitals shirts and hats!!, good-luck Ariel!!! and welcome to the club...PS I was gonna name my newest boy Greyson, but we have a Grace already and that was too confusing, long story short;) i love the name!!
Ariel I'm getting soooo excited for you. It's wonderful to be holding an infant again. When Lucy was born at 7lbs I thought how small she was, my others were 9lbs. There's a girl in the ward that just had a baby at 10lbs 6oz. CRAZY! She was as big as Lucy is at 4 weeks. Anyway... You're going to do great! Can't wait to hear of big Grey's safe arrival:)
Do we change the name to Bubba?
You will do great! Plus don't psych yourself out because the margin of error for sonograms predicting fetal weight is +/- 1-1.5lbs. Especially with bigger babies. So Grey might not even be as big as they think:)
You are going to do great either way!
Don't worry about his size. He is the perfect size for your body. That being said, BJ was 10 lbs at 37 weeks when he was delivered so I can definitely sympathize (and no, I didn't have gestational diabetes. That question always follows when folks hear how big he was) You'll do great!
