It's Shake & Bake and I Helped

Since Adam, Charlotte, and I were all under the weather on my birthday, I thought it would be a good day to undertake a major project. (Uh, wait a minute ...) I haven't sewed anything since I made a pillowcase in junior high home ec. so I am pretty darn proud about how good these pillow covers turned out. (Now that I've got this out of the way, I probably won't use my new sewing machine again for a few years.)

Don't worry... but the other day I was rummaging through the hundreds of boxes that just about swallowed my basement whole... until now... I found that cute litle green pillow case with farm animals all over it! You gave to me for Christmas one year! Silly, but I always cherished that gift and could never let it go! Haha. I think it was the first of many gifts you have given to me. Throughout all of my moves I could never quite get myself to give that up! Haha. The question is... can I do it now????

Now that your mother had seen that you all have a proper sewing machine, Ariel, Lauren and Ashley will learn to love creating with fabric as much as their mother and grandmothers did. Your great grandmother was a genius with fabric. Your grandmother made beautiful things and taught me to sew by telling me that she would pay for all the fabric that I wanted if I would sew. (I was 10, so don't get the wrong idea here girls!) The pillows are beautiful and I look forward to the curtains and pillows in all the bedrooms and maybe even in your family room. Have fun! Mom
