Summer Randoms and Good News

HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!  We are one happy family this week.  As some of you know, Adam is in the process of switching jobs right now.  What looked like a bad situation for us (a layoff) turned into a wonderful new opportunity for Adam less than a week later, and he will be starting at a new firm doing a new kind of work on September 17.  Until then, he is home with us on paid vacation.  Hurrah!  We have so much to be grateful for right now, not the least of which is the joy we get from being a family and getting to spend so much time together right now.

While this summer has definitely had some very bad moments, we have had some great times too.  Enjoy the pics of some of our more memorable times of July and August.

Grey is obsessed with brushing his teeth right now.  He climbs on the bathroom counter several times a day and demands to be given some toothpaste on his brush.  A future dentist in the making?

So happy together!

Grey's first time painting and Charlotte's first time in a long time.

No, my child isn't an artistic prodigy.  I painted that sun, and then he mixed all of the paints together and painted brown over the sun.  Da Vinci he is not!

His devilish grin.  Never mind the popcorn kernels he was holding onto in his mouth.

The only way to be outside in Houston during the summertime is to be wet.  We get creative about it sometimes.

One Sunday afternoon, we took the kids to the temple for Family Home Evening.  They especially loved the water fountains and cried a lot when we left.

Touching the temple.

Kids, you have the best daddy.  Too bad you won't appreciate him until you become parents one day!

These pictures make me miss Grey's long hair so much.  (You'll understand what I mean in a minute.)
Twelve-week pregnant belly.  I'm starting to look pretty chubby, but I still have a long way to go!
Yes, Grey's poor hair!  Adam took him to the local haircut place with instructions to get his little bowl cut trimmed up and this is what he came home with.  Grrrrrrr ... We are already working on a grow-out.

Hope your summer has been as happy as ours!

The Big Announcement You've All Heard By Now ...

... is that we've got a third little one joining our family around (or hopefully before) March 1, 2013.  We are thrilled!  The picture above was taken at 12 weeks, and you can see Baby's little head and body from the back.  Looks just like another little Laughton stinker!

Utah, Summer 2012

Okay, now that we have been home from Utah for almost two months, I figure it is probably time to blog a few pics from our trip.  Here are a few highlights from our time there.  (Sorry for the lack of detailed commentary or explanation.  I just don't have it in me right now.)

We enjoyed the new City Creek Mall in downtown Salt Lake, especially all of the water features.

And, of course, the Cheesecake Factory afterwards.

The third (fourth?) annual Moulton/Bybee Garage BBQ.  My parents' house is no longer big enough to accommodate the whole clan, but their enormous garage, cooled to freezing by the swamp cooler, is.  Plus the kids love getting to eat in the garage.  Tons of fun.

During the BBQ, Grey made his way into Lucy's kennel ... and got stuck.  He cried in there until someone heard him and we got him out. :(

But there were happier times to be had during the dinner!

Sunday afternoon haircuts on Grammy's front porch.

What better way to get your hair done than on the front porch and with your shirt off?  Kind of like they do it in Compton, but without the cornrows and drive-by shootings.

Ooooh, what's that, Grey?  The outdoor zoo in Logan?  How fun!

Grey helping Aunt Lolly push Baby Griffin in the stroller.

Checking out all the animals.
We interrupt this post about C & G for a vanity shot.  Since I'm blogging these pics at 13 weeks pregnant, I'm feeling especially nostalgic for my pre-pregnancy body.  (You will be mine again, I swear it!)

Crazy slide hair at the park after the zoo.

Cha-Cha, Aunt Lolly, Baby Griffin, and Grammy

Charlotte and Grey saw a stage at the park and decided to do an impromptu show.

My sweet little nephew, squishy Griff, on his blessing day.  He is about twice this big now, but I still love this picture so much!
Sweet little man Griffin!
Of course, this kid already owns a Duke shirt.  His Aunt Airy made sure he got one right away.
Grey enjoying playing with Lucy and a stray cat on Griffin's blessing day.
Beautiful Cha-Cha taking a break in the shade.
Handsome Uncle Dallin, who is leaving for Fiji to serve his two-year mission for our church in November.

Cousins Lindsay and Becky and Aunt Carolyn.
Best part of Griffin's blessing day for the kids: Uncle Blake (Griff's daddy) let them play around in his police car for a little bit.

Grey enjoyed clocking potential speeders and turning the sirens off and on.
Charlotte liked talking into the megaphone: "PULL OVER!"
