Summer Randoms and Good News

HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!  We are one happy family this week.  As some of you know, Adam is in the process of switching jobs right now.  What looked like a bad situation for us (a layoff) turned into a wonderful new opportunity for Adam less than a week later, and he will be starting at a new firm doing a new kind of work on September 17.  Until then, he is home with us on paid vacation.  Hurrah!  We have so much to be grateful for right now, not the least of which is the joy we get from being a family and getting to spend so much time together right now.

While this summer has definitely had some very bad moments, we have had some great times too.  Enjoy the pics of some of our more memorable times of July and August.

Grey is obsessed with brushing his teeth right now.  He climbs on the bathroom counter several times a day and demands to be given some toothpaste on his brush.  A future dentist in the making?

So happy together!

Grey's first time painting and Charlotte's first time in a long time.

No, my child isn't an artistic prodigy.  I painted that sun, and then he mixed all of the paints together and painted brown over the sun.  Da Vinci he is not!

His devilish grin.  Never mind the popcorn kernels he was holding onto in his mouth.

The only way to be outside in Houston during the summertime is to be wet.  We get creative about it sometimes.

One Sunday afternoon, we took the kids to the temple for Family Home Evening.  They especially loved the water fountains and cried a lot when we left.

Touching the temple.

Kids, you have the best daddy.  Too bad you won't appreciate him until you become parents one day!

These pictures make me miss Grey's long hair so much.  (You'll understand what I mean in a minute.)
Twelve-week pregnant belly.  I'm starting to look pretty chubby, but I still have a long way to go!
Yes, Grey's poor hair!  Adam took him to the local haircut place with instructions to get his little bowl cut trimmed up and this is what he came home with.  Grrrrrrr ... We are already working on a grow-out.

Hope your summer has been as happy as ours!

I figure I can take this post two ways. Either, I can feel like such a bad mom, or...the route I'm choosing, just think that you are an awesome mother with no respect to myself. You do so many fun and uplifting things with your kids. Way to go.
Also...does anyone else ever have trouble with the word verification thing? I'm on my 6th attempt, now.
