One Year/Three Year Pictures

I finally got it together and took the kids for their birthday pictures today (only like a month late).  I think they turned out pretty cute even though Grey was only good for like five minutes and then crawled away or cried every time we tried to pose him thereafter.  Charlotte, on the other hand, was an angel and really hammed it up for the camera today.  

I just love this little picture above of them together.  I can't stop looking at it.  I actually burst into tears earlier while I was.  I just keep thinking "How did I ever get so lucky?"  (Okay, I'm going to stop now.  I'm getting teary-eyed all over.  And I'm not even pregnant!)

This little toy car was the saving grace of the day.  Once it came out, Grey was all smiles.

She is such a little lady now!

Birthday Bash

At last, I am getting around to posting the pictures from Charlotte and Grey's ginormous birthday party last month.  Sorry about the delay.  We did tons of work getting ready and then cleaning up afterward but it was tons of fun to share Grey's Big 1 and Charlotte's third with so many family and friends.

Yes, this is a Costco cake.  But I customized it at the last minute by slapping on a G and a C with some green frosting I had in the fridge and adding a couple of candles.  Aren't my kids lucky to have such a crafty mom?  :)

Cute balloons sent by Grandpa Bybee and Nonna.  Charlotte's and Grey's names were on them!

Our neighbors loaned us this slide for the party.  Aren't they the BEST NEIGHBORS EVER?

First Day of Preschool

After three years at home, my little bird has flown the coop ... for approximately 3 1/2 hours on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Charlotte started preschool on Friday!

She was very excited to go and had been talking about it for weeks.

She excitedly pranced up the front walk toward the door.

Just look at that jaunty little step!

Then, the reality of how Mommy and Daddy were about to leave started to set in and she got a little nervous ...

She tried to be brave and hold it together, but ...

... she lost it just for a minute when we were leaving. Mommy was so glad to be reminded that Charlotte was still her baby even though she was going off to school. It made Mommy feel better when she started crying too after she walked out the door!
