Outside

We spent tons of time enjoying the great outdoors while we were in Utah. It was great to be able to hang outside without evaporating to death or being eaten by killer ants and mosquitoes. (Every time I am in Utah in the summer I think, "Why don't I live here?" Then I remember the eight months of winter.)
Of course, we never, ever sit on the grass in Houston (since it is spiky, gross, and full of bugs) so Grey was not used to touching grass and hated sitting on the lawn. He did this almost every time I put him down on it.

Grey and Charlotte Do Utah

We spent the end of June/beginning of July enjoying the mild temperatures and low humidity of Utah. While the big reason for our trip was Aunt Ashley's wedding (which will be blogged about in another post), we did a lot of other fun things while we were there too ...
... like pretending to be Cousin It from the Addams Family.

Since my kids are fine connoisseurs of splash pads, we had to try out this one by my parents' house. On a scale of 1 to 10, we only give it a 4 because the water was freezing!
Getting pizza with Grandpa Bybee
We checked out the children's museum in the Gateway Mall in downtown SLC. My children are also well-versed in these. We give this one an 8. Almost as cool as the one we have in Houston. They especially enjoyed putting balls into these plastic pipes and watching pressured air shoot them straight up.
Grey was less than impressed with his ride on the fake horse.
Okay, so he was less than impressed for a lot of the time in the museum.
There, that's better!

Charlotte was obsessed with this Life Flight helicopter they have parked on the roof. She sat in it forever, waiting for it to really take off.
More silliness with glasses. Thanks, Aunt Lolly!
First Utah corn on the cob. Yum!
Evening BBQ on the back porch. Perfect weather, perfect filet mignon, perfect company!
Aunt Cara
Uncle Bubba. (Look, two Bubbas!)
To say that this child liked the fireworks we let of is a serious understatement. (Check out Grandpa's support hose. No, he's not trying to make a fashion statement, just a recovery from his knee surgery.)
Grey loves Aunt Sarah!

Wisdom to Live By

Sometimes you've just gotta sit back and smell the roses.

Handsome

Hello, World. I'm still here. I've just been really busy this past month. Our June/July adventures have included a wedding, a two-week vacation to Utah, a trip to the circus, and a visit from Grammy. As soon as I sort through the 1500 pics on my camera, I'm going to post some, promise! Until then, enjoy this picture of my handsome Little Man. Looking more and more like his daddy, no?
